This is the first lesson of the Digital Color Mentorship tutorial. I am an unofficial voyeur. The lesson was simply to look for complimentary colors to see their effect on each other.

This is what I learned:
1. It works. Even with just a levels adjustment, as I did here, the colors themselves help the other color to stand out.
2. I should look for complimenatry solrs when I am shooting, not just wait for them to turn uo randomly and say "oh wow".
3. The local garden clubs have studied more color theory than I have. I am amazed how often they plant yellow next to purple, red in a sea of green and blue mixed with orange.

I find it to be a very nice edit. I love the yellows except the closet petal. I like the blue looking flower and if I did not know better would have figured they were suppose to be blue.

Nice transformation on this attempt. I would like to see if there is more purple in that there flower ... it seems a bit dark.

Those are complimentary colors if I've ever seen them. I love purple and yellow together. Always have in fact. It wasn't until this mentorship that I realized why. Nice job bringing out the details in the flowers with the curves adjustment.
