 Ceiling details at the Golden gate Theater in San Francisco.

I was always curious about this grand old theater and I had a chance to visit today so I took out my new 50mm 1.8 and clicked away.

No post processing here. This is straight out of the camera. Just resized for web.

Great, expecially without editing. The curves are just beautiful and so are the natural colors. Towards editing, if your planning to, I'd boost the saturation a bit to really bring out those deep reds and browns. The ceiling itself might also benefit from a little more brightness.
I think the only thing here that kinda bothers me is that the middle of the ceiling is slightly out of focus. But like I've said, for just out of the camera, a superb shot. Keep it up!

The color looks great...but I seem to be drawn in to the window. It's kind of an eye magnet for me. Also the part of the chandelier that is visible is a little distracting also. The block wall on the left doesn't do much for the photo either. I just think that there may be too much going on from the point of view. I love old movie theaters...do you have any other shots from there?

Very nice. Good detail. Great rich colors. I really like the perspective here, very interesting and captivating. Nice lines in the shot and I also really like how the foreground arch opposes the back arch. Nice shot.
