Taken at Hollins Mill park in Lynchburg, VA...yeah, I know, I know...it's a waterfall. I wanted to do something else, but of all the different shots I took of different subjects using different techniques, this one was not only the last shot I took for the challenge, but also the best (hah!).
I promise to work on the other shots...I have some ideas. Not that any of you care, but if you do, thanks a million.
Post processing involved a levels layer, two curves layers (one for the dark stuff, one for the light - both set to Lighten), conversion to quadtone, cropping, and some slight dodge/burn on the block and on the calm water.
Let's see how this one does...I have found out that I honestly have no friggin' idea how my shots will do. |

Nice shot but I'm not fond of this colorless version. Its almost inbetween sepia and B&W. The photo does have some pleasing lines to it and doesn't appear to be over worked in the editing area. Well done andgood luck in this challenge. <7> |

I'm a bit disappointed with this picture as the thumbnail looked quite promising. I feel the toning is over the top here and should be much more subtle. Also, I find the overexposed water to be quite distracting.
But I do like the framing and the subject. Perhaps it would have been nicer to see a bit more above though.
There seems to be some kind of faulty gradient line at the top of the image. Quite irritating in my opinion. |

very poetic, I love the stages of the falls, though on my monitor the B&W conversion is a bit mossy brown sort of like a shot that was not left in the fixative for long enough. |

you can't be serious! ( just joking... :) )
one of the many waterfall shots.... but it has that 'je ne sais quoi' to single it out :) very mysterious and romantic and majestic; it's great how the light/white travels in this image. |
