This was a good idea, but ... :) Your horizontal line is crooked and the lighting is flat. Probably would have done better with several light sources and a lighter background. Good luck! |

Good idea, poorly executed. The main problem is the lighting. I think the flash attached to the camera is the worst thing that has ever happened to photography. Try disabling your flash, and looking for other lighting options. Keep in mind that backgrounds and other surfaces will reflect onto your subject. For instance, if you set this up in slanting sun, with the goblet standing on a piece of matte gold wrapping paper, the paper would reflect up into the champagne, making it glow. You have good ideas, and otherwise your technique is good. Get some imagination into your lighting, and you'll have some really great photos! |
