To be honest I see your point of affluence but it just doesn't make sense, make a couple of dirty towels would make more sense, this is just something everyone has and can get. I don't know how to explain this but I think you wanted to say that some people only have these as their precious things, but the objects you have chosen don't really stick with that idea. I do like the composition, with the rule oh thirds being used but the color and the lighting is really harsh. Cutting off the mountains and the trees would have really helped and maybe avoiding the harsh highlights.

I don't see the riches...
looking...
I see sandals...
looking...
I see a towel...
Is it a richly fluffy towel? Perhaps richly soft sand?
Of course, I'm just giving you a hard time - just ribbing you a little - but I'm not certain I can see the riches here!!

I think if the towel were a solid color or maybe a stripe, it wouldn't be so distracting. I like the idea of it. The flip flops and towel seem a bit over exposed to me.

The Affluence Challenge description says, "The opposite of the poverty challenge. Knock us out with your representation of MATERIAL WEALTH." This is a cut and paste message that I will comment on all submissions that do not seem to suit the topic of the challenge. Take note I understand this maybe just my personal opinion, and as such I only deducted 1 point from my original vote.
