My first ever black and white digital image.
This is the flower of the Tulip Tree or Yellow Poplar which I believe is a native of the eastern United States. This one is growing at Kew Gardens in England.

Very nice tonal range. The light in front of and behing the flower is a bit of a negative, IMO. There's enough going on in the flower to not need the stem and leaf bits.

Very, very nice use of black and white to bring out the exotic curves and undulations of this flower. Faultless, to me :) 10!

Good lighting with contrasts, detail, almost transparency. Good work with a flower, usually more suitable for color.

Much of the image is dark and no visible, I would try lightening it up or cropping it out. I think there's too much of a shadow inside your subject (flower) as well.
