I know hindsight is always 20/20 but maybe taking the picture from a different angle, keeping the horizon but reducing the prominence of the amount of ocean in the shot. Just a thought....

I think there is too much ocean, so it takes the stage from the dramatic orange splash. Maybe a crop of about half the ocean background?

Nice composition and motion capture! Dramatic. Looks almost postcardy, except for the exact subject with the orange and the splash, of course. 8.

the orange should be the dominant color to meet the challenge...

Nice timing! An unconventional way to make ocean-orange juice though.

Now that's taking the splash photo to a whole new level!
Great idea, and the splash is well captured, but the composition lets it down. The top half of the photo, after the first wave, is wasted in this shot because the focal point is right down at the bottom.

good capture and composition 7

ok two things. first the orange thing, whatever it is, should be more visible. second the shutter speed was not fast enough to totally freeze the splash, making the splash look blurry some things that are good are that you met the challenge and i also like the crop you used, creating a lot of negative space. 5

Yep - the splash works for me every time - yet another great rendition

The orange is almost all but hidden. Nice idea though.

I don't think the horizon is necessary in this shot so you could have cropped it just below the whitecap in the middle. Also, timing is everything. More imact may have been gotten if you had clicked the shutter a split second earlier.

Cool effect and idea. But the water lacks a bit of something, maybe sharpness.

Nice idea, and well caught.

nice idea, i think i may have cropped the image at the top in order to avoid the empty space that is created by the water

I love the water splashing up in conjunction with the small cresting wave behind it, wonderful timing!
