| OK, another rose. The background is a little busy, I think, and the lighting a little hard-edged for a soft subject -- perhaps try lighting by reflection or putting white (or red) fabric in front of the sun. That might also help the orange tinge on the rose. |

| The detail is nice, but the colour looks somewhat washed out. Also, roses turned out to be a very common topic, and this picture doesn't really do anything except have a reasonably nice picture of a reddish rose. |

| It's a nice flower, but the color is not very rich and I wouldn't call it red myself. Flower shots aren't very original, especially roses in a challenge called "red", so you have to really pull off a great looking photo to impress me with this type of shot. I think it's a nice photo, but not terribly appropriate for the challenge. |

| Your rose has really good definition and the angle of the shot is pleasing. The only thing I can think of changing is maybe the color of the red. Make the red a little darker and a little red'er. I think you might be able to use levels on photoshop if you have access to it. Maybe an input level of 60/1.68/2.20 (rgb) might help it stand out more. Ok enough blah blah from me :). |

| I find the background to be rather distracting. Almost to the point of taking all my attention away from the central subject. |

| Very nice photo. The reason for the low mark is to me it is cliche and does not even seem like a red cliche. |
