When I was driving home today, I saw this old sign with its incredibly clear shadow. I like the detail in the plaster on the building, but it might be too close a crop...

Haha, you got me to look it up! Glad I did, because my first answer would've been wrong: A "krok" is a hook and a "nål" is a needle. That's true, but a kroknål (one word) is a crochet needle. That's a word I didn't know.

Hmmm, should I change the title to "Sign at an old crochet store?"

Thanks for helping me learn more Swedish.

I like it too. What does it mean, 'KROKNALEN'? My guess is laundromat. Or maybe Ice Creams. (Bet it doesn't mean 'Hardware", does it?) Either way, it's a very interesting photograph, nice composition and remarkably sharp shadow. I see no reason to prefer a different crop; it looks striking just as it is.

I like the simple composition, especially the way the shadow echoes the sign so clearly. The bumpy stucco wall adds interest. I also like the close crop (but I tend to crop more tightly than a lot of people at this site.)
