This was one of my favorites..I liked the primary colors and the whole composition and natural illusion.

Indeed a natural illusion. Why try to trick the eye when mother nature does it well to begin with? Bumping up to 8

what a great eye! and truly this is one of the most common natural illusions around. come to think of it, after seeing this I'm surprised that it's the only mirage entry in the challenge. tis a credit to your creative thinking. good work- I expect this one will place highly.

Oh I love mirages... I still get excited by them at 33! This is a really nice image, strange how it can carry so many connotations and possible stories - that huge red truck out on the open roads... nice one.

OK... I'll give ya the illusion points, but it's not really that interesting. A few seconds glance and you've seen all there is, a truck coming over the hill...

I think this is one that everyone can relate to. Wish the road was a little more "vanished", but still a good shot.

isn't that so cool?

i've read that those mirages appear because the ground is heated so much by the sun. once the air just above the asphalt gets hot enough the light that hits it disperses differently. so when you see the bottom of a car on the ground without any real water, its the light bending and creating that illusion. very cool shot.

Nice colours, concept, focus and light. Truck being in the center hurts it a bit I think. Very good execution of the illusion!

I have always been fascinated my mirages, they are my own personal mindtrip - great capture. I love that the mirage has "eaten" the horizen so to speak.
