 During a heavy downpour, i noticed the gutter was clogged causing an overflow and this SPLASH on my windowsill.
Levels, curves, USM

I was leaning out my backdoor to get this , and trying to stay dry. I didn't like the clutter BG very much, but the other shots I took w/o the BG (i bent down and shot more up) were not as good - the rain drops and angle of the windowsill were not as good. I tried a more severe crop (the black steeple thing is the top of a lampost) but that also cropped out much of the 'action' of the rain drops. I tried a shallow DOF to reduce the BG's prominence somewhat.

Very nice. The subdued colors, the steeple in the lower right, annd the way the rain looks like rice all appeal to me very much. I'm looking forward to seeing the photo details after the challenge. Again, nice work!

very nice and powerful image except for that thing in the background... i'm glad that the roof line is balanced between the window sill... if it weren't then this would be a distracting image... the rain against the sill is great and i like how you captured the moment... 6

I would have rated this higher if the shutter speed a little faster. As it is, there's relatively little that's in sharp focus. A shallower DOF might have helped you to focus attention on the subset of the image which you want the viewer to focus on.

Wow, what an impressively interesting catch of such a mundane bit of minutiae! I'm very impressed! Even the junky background somehow works in this shot. You are definitely The Man/Woman! I love the deflected flow. Great shot!

Captures "Rain" quite well. I think a little more dof would work for me, but I'd have to see the final result to be sure. Overall a good photo.

It looks a little blurry to me. I can't really tell what the bottom right corner is a picture of. The left side of the picture is nice...with the water hitting the window sill.
