Beautiful photo. I had a Royal Enfield 250cc for my first motorcycle. Brings back memories.

Is that a monk in the background? I love the oxymoronic nature of this photograph.

the composition is OK, but the lighting on the bike engine could be a bit brighter. the title - 1955 would have been better.

Good pic. The date?

Great urban quality. I like the guy walking away. Nice movement without being busy. The black and white is a perfect choice here. The roundness of the motorcycle wheel is a nice shape against all of the angular lines of the building and sidewalk.

wow, this totally does not evoke 2005, but it's a great shot anyway! 7

6 - Met the Challenge (in an unusual but valid way - in my opinion, by putting a photo of this in a time capsule for this year to show that some things remain the same, 'over' eras, to future generations). It is a kind of 'paradox' and for that I think it is creative and unusual and yes 'out of the box', for it is still 'true' to 2005, though of course not 'indicative' of the 'general way of life' "to depict the era to future generations". Criticism; whilst I think the b/w works well here, especially with the seeming 'intent', given the year, maybe a 'color' shot of this, not sure. Of course, for me you could have put possibly 1950? (or whatever year that bike is), but I think I understand your intent. I also wonder whether a black frame may have been more dramatic. In my opinion it is a stretch on the 'spirit' of the Challenge, but it is still realistic enough to be 'acceptable' in my opinion, etc etc. Perhaps a little more definition on the bike may have made this a better photograph, in my opinion.

This is intriguing - curious to know if your original title was to be different? ... 7
