Well I thought this would do better, I only had the camera for a week. Later I found out that the ISO was set to 650. Oh well. |

This is a fantastic studio shot. I like the anticipation this photo portrays as the viewer waits for the drop to touch the flower. Good job. 6 |

Ok, this is probably not real rain, but it's nice nonethelss. LIke the minimalism of it. Some of the leaves are blown out, though, making it hard to see the raindrops that are sitting on them. |

I like this so much better than all the other rain drops/flower shots in this challenge. A little grainy (on the background) but still a lovely shot. |

I like this stopped motion on this pure white flower. Time seems to be peacefully stopped.
Would perhaps have been even better with more negative space. |

Oddly, my favourite thing about this shot is the grainy background. I'm so wierd. Good job catching the drop, I'll bet that took a few tries. I like how the drop is like a little lense to the flower too. |

Nice, and I do like the noise, although it may well look better without it. Good shot! |

Very appealing image, but the graininess of the background is distracting. The fact that you caught the water droplet mid-air is very cool though. I also think you could bump up the color a notch. |

I like the simplicity of this image. The single drop reflecting the surroundings is good & the flower has good detail. |

perfectly timed. tho, the flower's highlights seem just a little blown out it doesn't really detract from the image IMO. i also notice that the image has a lot of grain...i'm not sure whether this was intentional, or a result of oversharpening to make the water dropplet clearly visible, but i'm not really sure how i feel about it. all in all, tho, very good job and i hope you do well :-) |

Beautiful and simple. You may have burned a bit more detail into the petals and processed through Neatimage to reduce the noise. Other than that, this is an outstanding capture. Good luck! |

You'll probably get a lot of neg comments about the grain, but, for me, that's the little something that makes this shot really good. |

This is a super idea. I would have scored it higher if the background had not appeared noisy -- it may just be texture, but I felt it was distracting -- and if the whites had not been so blown out on the upper part of the flower. I also think a stronger composition would have helped. I wish I could make these remarks sound "softer" because I really think your idea was great and you were able to catch that drop with such clarity. I see a lot of creativity and potential in the image and hope this will help encourage you to continue to pursue excellence. Trust me, it will probably end up scoring higher than mine!! LOL! |

Nice composition. Focus is well placed with good shaprness on the flower and the water drop. Lighting is not bad, but on my monitor, the whites of the flower is nearly blown out to the point that is very difficult to pick up individual petals, especially on the upper left portion of the flower. Still very nice. 7 |

the single suspended drop makes this shot. the white stands out really well, and perhaps it is aided quite a bit by the grainy background. very nice. perhaps a complaint would be on the stem, where there appears to be a shadow/light line. burn that in to get a consistent coloring? 9 |

good use of stopped motion. only gripe is the grainy background--and with NeatImage (a free program) getting rid of it would have been a snap. NeatImage is your friend! |

Liked the concept really well. There is quite a bit of grain, though, in the image, especially in the background. Some cameras have a setting that reduces noise in the image. Also, if you have a TIF setting on your camera, as I do, I find that using it for these challenges create too large a file to compress down to the requirements of the challenge. |
