I think a heavier sprinkler would have made this shot even better. At times when the sprinkler is turned just right you can actually create a rainbow with the water.

Great capture! The highlights are a little bright, but you certainly got a lot of emotion packed into the image. Good job.

DNMC.

-edit: Clearly this is not rain. Also, I envy you for living in a place where the weather is mostly beautiful. The weather where I live is mostly crap, but my wife won't live anywhere more than 20km from her family. Oh well, I love her family a lot too. I do like the stopped action of this shot, great expression on the boy's face too. I think your shot would be improved by cropping at the right where his arm meets the blue. i don't think that part of the Slip 'n Slide adds anything to the photo, and the crop would get you closer to the action.

Sorry, I'm a bully. Score = 4

Great capture, and I love the expression on his face. The colors contrast nicely as well.

I feel ya. No rain in SoCal for months. This one looks like an ad for Wham-o. Those years summer used to mean more than it does now. Maybe that's just me. Nice capture.

No probs with this meeting the challenge, but it does look like a snapshot however. Bad glare from sun without any diffusion, and no thought about background. Subject is dead centre which is not the most imaginative placement.

WHEEE Love his expression!!! I think I'd crop out the words and we'd still know what he was doing and it would put more concentration on his face. Great light and stop action.
