I used a whole lot of blur -- since there was a whole lot of distraction in the background.... and that is really the only way I know how to fix it... still learning.

A tad over processed, but beautiful moment, none-the-less. :))

I don't like the blur here, but I'm sure you've already gotten comments on that...Great expression on the poor little girl's face, at least!

poor girl. very compelling photo. fabulous composition.

I love the expressions here - the mood (especially on the little girl) is wonderful. For me, though, the boy should not be blurred - it's a major distraction (for me). I like the colors and the reflection on the coffee pot. There's one other, but more trivial input: The extra line of water confuses me ... might be an improvement if the water were just coming out of the spout and nowhere else. Again, I really like the colors and also the background.

I like the idea a lot. The setup and composition are very good. Colors are good. Too heavy handed with post processing for my taste, however.

there seems to be a slightly strange glow around the subjects, not sure what may have caused this.
08/19/2005 11:22:45 PM
Nice image but it seems a little over-processed to me.

You'll probably get hurt because the shot doesn't actually show rain, but that point aside, I think the processing (glows) don't work very well here. Good expression and nice color tones, but the processing is a distraction.

This was such a wonderful photo. Great capture of the moment. Loved the soft focus created by the motion. The coffee pot was just a little too blown out. Maybe a little more burning in or colorizing to take some of the shine off would have made it a 10 for me. I gave it a 9, instead.

The blur really detracts in this image. Might have been better to leave it be.

Otherwise, great capture. The little girl's expression is priceless!

Having been picked on by my older brother I must say this photo really spoke to me and I feel her pain. Very funny. I hope she got him back later.

DNMC... :-(

Background blurring has left a distracting aura around the kids. Fantasic catch of the kids, though.

cute use of kids, but i think you might have gone a bit overboard with the blurring of the background, and not having any actual rain in your pic will also hurt you score IMO. sorry ~3~ but practice makes perfect!! so keep at it and good luck :-))

aww :(
kids will be kids. Bit too much post processing the background there. I think it would have been alright to leave as is in this situation.

The background effects are interesting. What would a plain background do for this image?

Fun shot but the overprocessed feel on the borders of their little bodies is what bothers me in this shot.

I can't figure out why there seems to be gost image of boy, girl,... I may be wrong, but, background look heavily photoshop blurred.

Intriguing photo, but looks like PP gone mad.

this processing isn't working for me, but i guess the cuteness factor might work with the voters. 5

Went a little nuts with the blur in PS, eh? :)

Oh my goodness...big brothers can be so rotten! : ) I think I may have liked this a bit more without the odd "glow" effect...it really takes away from the "candid-ness" of the image IMO...it just seems so overdone.

Was the background purposefully badly blurred. There are big areas without blur.

A "cute" picture, but I can't see any rain.
I have a feeling a lot of people are going to be saying that to you.
Also the post processing seems to be very harshly done.

HEE HEE the diffused light and softness is nice but maybe a tad overdone. She is NOT happy. Great colors.

Too much editing in my opinion.
