I know I'm going to get some negative comments about it not being "rain" but when I hear the weather report say 'chance of rain' this is what I think of, so *to me* it represents "rain".

This is an OUTSTANDING lighting photo, one of the best I've ever seen, anywhere. The big bolt and the little bolts branching out, it feels so dramatic and powerful.

another cool lightning shot, though over exposed. Perhaps a larger aperture (usually around f/11) works extremely well for lightning, while not blowing out the main bolt. Also, the horizon is tilted.

That's an excellent capture of lightning and I know that with lightning comes rain but I don't see it in this picture. 6

Superb lightning shot. I love that the top is blown out "by nature." I love the detail in the lightning bolt. The low horizon works well and is accentuated by the lights. Hope it ribbons.

although it probably was raining when you shot this, there is no rain present in the photograph. I am not voting lower for that though. This is a great capture of the weather but there just seems to be something missing. It needs punch. I would have straightened it also.

Great timing on this shot, and I absolutely love it. I am although distracted by the lights on the horizon, left to the feeling of, "Where did the lightening go". Otherwise a great shot :)

what if you cropped out the top 6th of the image to remove the whited out hot area at the top middle? Nice detail in the strike.

Beautiful. The orange of the lights below are a nice warm contrast to the cool tones of the sky and lightning.
