Where was this shot?

Neat processing. Works nicely in this instance. Might have liked more contrast, but, it's still pleasing to see something different.

Would have preferred a bit less post processing.

This would have been sooo good if it wasn't cartoon style. Would have been great

this looks like a good photo - but i don't like the result of post processing here.

I'm usually not a big fan of so much post processing but this is really neat! His shirt looks way cool!

I think that the treatment you have given this photograph has destroyed it. It looks like a well composed picture with some of the dynamics expected in a live performance.

Is this allowed in basic editing??

Not trying to be a jerk but...........

Filters: The use of filters (or non-Photoshop equivalent) is strictly limited. Any filter or stand-alone utility designed and used to preserve the integrity of the image and/or reduce the effects of noise, scratches, etc, are permitted. These include but are not limited to the Sharpen, Unsharp Mask, and Dust & Scratches filters, and standalone image cleanup utilities such as NeatImage. However, no effects filters may be applied to your image, with the exception of Noise and Gaussian Blur, which are allowed. Any filter permitted by this rule must be applied uniformly to the entire image. Selective application of any filter is prohibited.

If I'm in the wrong, please feel free to PM me but the way I see it this shouldn't be in the challenge, not because of the capture, because of the editing. I did not request this for DQ, I'll leave that up to you.

With that said I do think it's a cool picture. It meets the theme of the challenge, I would have given you a 7-8 but you've broken the rules. Sorry.

I'm new here, but I thought the rules did not allow this editing for this contest?
08/17/2005 02:40:41 PM
Looks like a perfectly acceptable shot before you butchered it.
08/17/2005 01:33:38 PM
Good composition, intriguing use of filter....

Sadly, I believe this is a basic challenge and said filter use will likely DQ the photo. Although perhaps you utilized various global filters and color adjustments.
08/17/2005 01:23:19 PM
Most people are probably going to vote you down for the use of this filter, but I actually think that it works well with this picture. "8" from me for trying different things.
08/17/2005 09:46:58 AM
Sorry, I don't like this effect.
08/17/2005 07:09:36 AM
are you sure this is legal?
08/17/2005 06:59:53 AM
not mad on the effect, would like to see without it
08/17/2005 06:21:51 AM
if you hadn't digitized this to death, i would have scored it much, much higher.
08/17/2005 04:17:52 AM
I don't think pics so adapted like this are alowed... and why? I think this would be a great pic if you didn't adapt it! to bad.
