This is part of the Oklahoma City bombing memorial. The bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah federal building occurred at 9:02 am on April 19, 1995 and took the lives of 168 Oklahomans including many children who were at a daycare located within the building. The memorial has one Gate at the eastern boundary with 9:01 on it (the photo). Another is located at the western boundary with 9:03 on it. The space between the Gates is 9:02.

The reflection in the photo is from a reflecting pool made of black granite. The pool occupies the space that was once a city street.

I am glad I came back for a second look. I was wondering why it had 9:01. I have never seen the memorial there. Truly an amazing photo that IMO" should have placed higher. Either way be honored you portrayed this in a fitting fashion for the victims. I'm getting chill bumps.

Nice to see the explanation of the title now, very meaningful indeed and solemn looking in the rain.

One of my favorites in this challenge. I thought it would make at least top 10. It's very simple, but yet very powerful at the same time. Unless we knew this particular place, the 9:01 makes it very mystical.

Nice simple shot. I wonder what is that thing in the door? Why 9:01? But I really love the reflection. You kept it vey simple yet the composition and focus make it a great shot. 8

I really like this photo, but I feel like it may tilt a little to the left. It has great lines and sharpness.

I like the implied symmetry here. The bush in the back behind the fence is a bit distracting but other than that, it gets a 6 from me.

Very clean symmetrical shot. One thing that does bother me is the fact that you can't see the objects in the light (table & chairs?) in the reflection. Makes it seem a little off-balance to me. Still, a great capture though.

A lovely, graphic image. And a very good example of when it is absolutely right to free yourself from the tiresome rule of thirds ... the symmetry of this image is what makes it so powerful and original. It's a fascinating photograph, apparently simple but actually packed with interest. And the rain is a legitimate contributor to the whole, not just a happy co-incidence. Very fine work. 9
