 Pulled off the Interstate to take this shot. Added a multiply layer and masked everything off but the sky.

adjusted brightness and contrast, fine tuned with curves. Some dodging on the face of the barns. resize and usm.

Excellent composition, but yep, it's too dark. Also, it seems soft. You may want to upgrade from that 18-55 as it isn't suited very well for your type of photography.

I think this shot works. (It's not too dark for me, but everyone's screen is calibrated differently, so you'll probably get mixed answers on that.) I like it because it gets me interested - it makes me want to go find it and explore closer in. Great shot!
