Last minute idea and excecution.
NI, USM for contrast, add a little noise for texture, saturation, crop, resize, USM for sharpness, border, save, submit.
Total time from idea to submission: 25 minutes.
Well.....until I realized it was only Monday night... not Tuesday. I seem to remember Dr. Jones having a similar story to his second place Nude entry. I felt like such a fool.
So I went back and edited it again, this time working from the RAW file, and adjusting the white balance to Tungsten, something I didn't have time for when I thought I was going to be late. I changed the crop a little in the re-edit, and chose to add the border for a more finished look.
I like this photo alot, I hope some of you do as well.
PS. I apologize to those who will criticize that it was not actually a live performance. Here's my problem: I actually play bass in a band, but I was playing all the time during this challenge, so I never had the time to go out a find a band to photograph. It's hard to take self portraits of your own band. This was my only choice. Sorry. |

| Great composition, love the piano in the background. Grain works well. Dof is spot on, just covering the text. Camera angle works well. White balance is a little on the yellow side for my taste. One of my favourites so far. |
