next time, move the ladder!
08/30/2005 10:18:02 PM
Too much going on in the background to distract from the subject - too centered and cropped off the bottom too much- better luck next time

Composition!!!--what does the ladder have to do with this?
08/30/2005 04:23:56 PM
this one sent me to the fridge, lol
08/30/2005 03:35:16 AM
Neat idea, but the background is really distracting to me..

This is a good idea, but I think I would have moved the ladder and all the other "stuff" in the background. Straightening the shot out and centering the "tower" in the center window would have worked well. 5

A tower of yogurt containers with an uncluttered background, in focus, good lighting, on a straight plane and well cropped might be somewhat interesting. Yogurt is a good subject matter for this challenge. If you are just starting out, don't get discouraged, there is lot to be learned from this site.

I don't like that you can see the stairs or the boxes on the background, it looks like a rush shot. The stairs atrack more the attention because of the colour.

I like the concept behind this, the red of the yogurt clashes nicely with the whitish background. However, the background itself could been better. If you would have set up a small table against one of the white walls with a white tablecloth on it I think this picture would have been better. The ladder. windy and "cathy" detract from the image quite a bit.

love your idea. would be better if you'd given it just a black or dark background though.
08/26/2005 10:29:45 PM
too much un-necessary clutter :/
08/26/2005 07:57:49 PM
It's a bit boring. I don't like the lighting and it looks like you didn't edit it.

There is no relation between the dairy subject and the background. It would therefore be better to blow the background into oblivion with a wider aperture. Straightening the horizon would be a good start as well.

while the yogurt pairs interestingly with the ladder, the background is cluttered and overly bright for this image to have any real impact.
08/26/2005 02:45:37 PM
What's up with the ladder back there!?
08/25/2005 09:22:10 PM
I would have liked this more if the yogurt straight on from the lense, instead it looks uneven.

a boring idea u should use the rule of 3rds dont like the backround theres a ladder and boxes a little busy
08/25/2005 08:44:36 PM
This is a good picture only if there was't so much of a background. It's really distracting.
08/25/2005 11:40:31 AM
Good idea, horrible background
08/24/2005 11:21:41 PM
Background is terribly distracting. Just not very original
08/24/2005 08:54:53 PM
Nice try
08/24/2005 08:26:34 PM
the clutter in the background in very distracting
08/24/2005 08:24:34 PM
i dont really like the background
08/24/2005 07:21:51 PM
Interesting. I'd suggest using a different background and I'm not sure about the levelness.
08/24/2005 06:53:03 PM
Cute but IMHO the background is very cluttered and there is some reflections on the yogurts. 5

Excellent pic! The yogurt tower idea bursts with originality, and that's what I love about it! Great job!
08/24/2005 05:10:14 PM
Using a different background would have made the photo more effective. As it is, my attention is drawn to the work going on behind the tower, instead of to the yogurt itself. Very interesting choosing a different type of yogurt for the very top, though.

what a Dair-ing balance act. Lighting is nice and even. Maybe would have been nicer without the clutter on the counter and the step ladder. Draws focus away from the subject. Perhaps a tighter crop as well? Portrait orientation?
08/24/2005 02:11:10 PM
good idea but the background just kills this picture.
08/24/2005 01:54:52 PM
The background is distracting... the ladder? random. Great idea though!
08/24/2005 01:25:55 PM
too much background clutter
08/24/2005 11:02:43 AM
I would have liked this with a simple background. The ladder distracts my eye. Cute idea =)
08/24/2005 08:01:43 AM
Distracting background. Cool concept though.
08/24/2005 07:46:51 AM
Okay, what's the subject. The Yogurt, ladder, Cathy, to busy to me.
08/24/2005 07:20:27 AM
There is too much extraneous background. Compositionally, the yogurt more centered in the window may have drawn the eye more to the tower. The ladder distracts the eye way too much. A simplified image would have gone further with this shot.
08/24/2005 01:30:09 AM
This would look SO much better if you would have put white poster board behind your tower to use as a background to block out the mess.
08/24/2005 12:26:12 AM
This is neat, but the background is very distracting. Try a cheap and easy setup of a couple of white posterboards
08/24/2005 12:23:20 AM
nice idea but the setting is awful. you couldn't at least clean the countertop before taking the shot?
