The basin is accessible only by a bushwhack with 3,000 vertical feet of elevation gain, or by descending Capitol Peak via the keyhole. The Basin’s beauty is enraptured in the chaotic surroundings. This photo was taken as a storm moved over Snowmass Mountain, while the lake calmly waits for the onslaught.
