Challenge: What is the Matrix? (Classic Editing)
Camera: Canon PowerShot S30
Location: San Marcos, California
Date: May 19, 2003
Date Uploaded: May 19, 2003

Only took 40 gazillion different theme photos for this challenge! This one is a spoon reflected in a mirror reflected in a teapot, taken outside on the patio then pushed toward green in Photoshop. I liked the spoon image from the film, and the feel of the concrete texture, plus the idea that it's difficult to tell what's real and what's not, with all the reflections going on. That's what I was trying to capture here.

I've never tried to do a head-on reflection while taking myself out of the picture. Even if this scores low, I did learn something new this week! Despite the controversy surrounding this challenge, I thought it was a great idea, and definitely a challenging challenge!

Great idea, wonderful quality and focus, the only thing that bothers me is the business going on with the bushes. It's pretty confusing up top. I can also see your hand holding the mirror. :) Overall a 7 for quality and originality.

too cliche

Neat way of keeping your camera out of shot. Get the spoon reference, but it doesn't particularly say anything about the film to me.

A lil busy, foreground exposure very high. Would wish for better focus of spoon/mirror. Shadow on right a bit distracting... yet this photo has a puzzling effect on me.

Very clever. I think you could have cropped this to either include the whole spoon, or none of it, at the bottom of the shot. But it's a very clever idea - albeit one that only a fan of the film will truly 'get'.

There is no spoon....

No doubt , the shooting skill is really great. Get the idea of shooting from reflection, just, how much of this pic tell me about Matrix? Or i just too slow to capture the meaning carry from this pic? sorry..
