This is excellent--I think you should have been ranked much higher.

Someone else mentioned a silhouette...I liked this one because it is an anti-silhouette, the exact opposite. Great job at keeping the main highlight within constraints and also illuminating the surroundings at quite a distance.

I keep been drawn back to look at this. There is something archetypal about it that is haunting and hypnotic.

love the detail in the rocks. Wish the man was less blurry - may be due to light. Crop/composition very good, POV excellent. 7 - good luck in the challenge!

I feel like a silhouette would have worked better for the figure, though then the fact that he's nude would be lost...

I'd love to see this reshot for a non-nude challenge!

Very cool shot. Nice composition and great concept.

Interesting...has an almost religious sense to it. Very well done.

Well taken and a different concept. To me, this is a nude that provokes thoughts, which makes it very rare.

Very nice take on the challenge. I do think that if you cropped just a tad smaller maybe even going with a square crop this would have a little more punch. I'm not sure that that much negative space at the bottom is needed. I love the detail in the rocks and how the light effects different parts of the shot differently due to it's direction. Wish I could see this at 8x10 instead of 640 by whatever...

I want to like this more than I do. The problem for me is the focus. Your subject looks blurry, but the rocks, especially at lower left, seem better focused. Composition is really good. B&W works. Would make a great poster if it was clearer.

maybe the subject could have been a little closer and a little sharper

too dark and not distinct.

This is a realy good idea.
I think it hasn't worked as well as it could have as the subject is too far away. A little closer so more detail could be seen & more of the image

Nice idea, the contrast is too harsh on the model and not enough definition on the landscape. I think it's a seashore, but can't be sure. It almost looks like a naked miner descending into a mine shaft...

Subject seems a bit too out of focus and too far off. Unique and creative though!

I think there is too much negative space for me. I do like it. I just wish your subject was closer.

Well done technically, but boring compositionally. 6.

Interesting shot. I like the beams radiating off the light source and the pose of the model. The objects in the foreground distract me from the subject a little. They are dark enough to be mostly unidentifiable, but lit enough to draw attention.

I like the lighting, but I think that the crop could have been tighter to make it a bit better,

Nice lighting, dof, and interesting foreground. I like not seeing what he's looking at, it gives a sense of mystery. Very nicely done.

I really like this. The focus seems to be more on the rocks in the foreground though. The focus on the model is a little soft.

I am torn on this image - technically the lighting is not so great but i love the effect of the compositionvs light as awhole. The way the light hits the rocks makes it seem almost like a tunnerl. which i just love. I really like that it is a male model too, i don't think it would have worked nearly as well as a woman. I think just a little more detail in the model and it would have done it for me.

I feel this would be stronger if the subject was just a bit closer to consume more of the space. Although I like the content of this negative space, it overwhelms interest in the subject.

creative lighting, feel the figure is slightly out of focus compared to some of the rocks under .
