i really like this composition. it would have been nicer a little bigger, but you saw the pattern really well. |

heavy treading is a mother's best friend? I'm afraid the title makes no sense to me, and this picture is too small to really appreciate. giving you a 4 is, I think, generous in this case |

Why is it mother's best friend? And is that actually a shoe? Maybe more explaination next time..or even more of the subject. |

The photo is too small, and not terribly interesting. Perhaps including something other than the sole would have helped. I don't get the title, sorry :-( |

Sorry, I just don't get it. What does it have to do with Mother? How do we even know this is a shoe? |

the size of this image will hurt your finial score. Try for at least 500px minimum. Being so small, i cannot offer much feedback, other than interesting pattern. |

too smalll--a border would have made this shot more interesting |

Okay, well it's a picture of the bottom of a shoe. It doesn't really appeal to me. The bottom of it fills the whole picture, and the picture is kind of small. It's not very interesting to me, but it's on topic. |

Wouldn't know what subject was if it weren't for the challenge title. Needs more contrast. |

Nice pattern. Good luck, small images usually don't do too well! |

It's slightly not focused.. |

Nicely abstracted from the whole. The curved, straight and circular lines all work together to make and inriguing image. Could use a bit of white toneal value for balance against the black. I'm sure you will hear over and over how this is too small, but I can see the entire photograph just fine. 6 |

If this were bigger, I believe it would score better in the voting. |
