Hello from the Critique Club!

I can look at a perfectly executed painting or even a photograph for that matter and it can often leave me cold. This image just makes me feel happy for some unknown reason.
Yes a different DOF might have made this image better technically, but I’m sure something very unique and important would have been lost in the process. THAT wing!! It’s like gossamer on fire – its like a fairy type elemental coming through from another dimension and laughing at the silliness of us humansâ€Â¦you could not capture that again if you tried for the next 100 years!

The colours in this image could have come from a painter’s palette – planned and perfect - perfect together.

This image just works for me and I̢۪m glad your depth of field and focus were as they were. For that reason I can̢۪t bring myself to find any faultJ

Wonderful DOF. Well captured and presented. Have you shown your math teacher? Maybe wait till grades are out.

good shot, would have benefitted from a greater DOF, & longer shutter speed.

Great colours in the background and the reflections on the wings. Just a shame that the DOF doesn't allow the eyes to be sharp, too. Oh what the heck, 10.

I hope your teacher didn't look like this :)

The crop feels a bit awkward, but this may be the best you could come up with given the opportunity.

Speaking as a Maths teacher - I resent - oops, perhaps not the lady part.
Shame the DOF was so shallow, I think it just missed the most interesting part.

Very cool closeup. At first glance I didn't know if it was real or fake. I love the highlight along the wings. I'm not a fan of insects, but a fan of your photo. Kudos!

I'd drop the paranthesis, they're really unnecesary. Awesome shot.

Wonderfull -if you cropped this one I think you did an excellent job. I love the sideways view and the blurring going into the background. Just a great shot.
