I can't see the detail of the shoe very well. The lighting is a little off and I focus more on the bright area of the canvas than the shoe itself.

I like the way you posed the shoe with the flowing laces.
If you are going to use a thin bed sheet as a backdrop, it is important that you iron out the creases in to to achieve an even backdrop. The backlighting is interesting, but you have not made this image a silhouette, thus there needed to be a light to counterbalance in the front. Right now the viewer is aware that details exist, but cannot quite grasp them.

Nice simple arrangement. I think you should have illuminated the shoe a little better - it's tough to see the detail that is there. The backlit sheet looks a little messy too, which detracts from the simplistic feel your photo projects.

all the colors in this photo are so similar. and the really bright color on the sheet in the back is very disracting.

I'd like to see the light on the shoe and not behind it. The wrinkles of the fabric is a tad distracting to me. The backlighting might be been more effective if the shoe were just a silhouette.
