Is there a Charlie in here? Not quite sure. Wait.... is he under the black Fila's? Interesting idea. The title makes the image, it defiantly made me look a couple of times.

Wow - that's a lot of pairs of shoes! For me, this might work better if zoomed in a bit tigher and losing the door frame edges at the bottom (sides) of the photo.

Maybe charlie is something exciting in this image - all i see is a pile of shoes. I pile my shoes up the same way in the hall so there is nothing exciting or exceptionally captivating about this image. It is something in our everyday lifee that we walk past and try to ignore, to photograph it would warent a similar responce from a viewer.

watch the lighing. You could try hanging clothes up, too, too add to the closet feel.

I think this would work well if it were cropped tightly.
