this is a great idea, but you need more dynamic lighting to make it really work. everything here looks very flat... you need strong highlights and shadows.

Without the title, and knowing the contest theme this image is far too close, and could do with moving back to release even a little more information for the viewer to let them be recognisable as shoes. Nice abstract composition despite this.

Good texture and nice macro. I would prefer to see the contrast a little higher, but my own entry, with high color and contrast is doing poorly. So, who am I to judge?

nice macro - but, almost too close. while this is clearly footwear, the concept of shoe isn't strongly conveyed in the shot (for me)
