This was your first challenge entry? You should hold your head high my dear! LOL Although IMHO the backlighting is a bit overpowering, the composition is pretty good and I like the (albeit slightly washed out) tones. The boots certainly convey a feeling of being well worn - a full life, so to speak. And anytime you convey a feeling or emotion in a photograph (at least IMHO), then your shot is a success. Nice work.

Great job on the sepia work on the photo... certainly emphasizes the "worn" look of the boots... Keep posting!!

A very good sepia study with superb lighting to drive home the point. 8

The backlighting is too too bright and so the shoes lose detail and clarity. I really like the composition and the subject.

A little more contrast would make this better, still good though.

Great contrast. Backlighting was clever. There's a small line to the left of the shoes--maybe edge of prop floor?

i dont really like the somewhat hazy look this shot gives off. bright spots on the floor catch my eye before the shoes do.

This picture tells a story - I like that.

Your shot is over-exposed. You loose a lot of beautiful detail in the darker areas. This can easily be fixed with 'levels'. 5.

Hmmm, dreamy. Not sure whether to regard the over exposure as art and mood or mistake, I'll settle for in between - 6

Normally I'd say watch the contrast/brightness, but I see what you were going for here. Got a good old-time feel out of this one.

I feel stronger contrast and b/w with slightly warmer tone would have been better over sepia.5.
