I simply used one home-made softbox to the right of the camera, at about a 45-degree angle from my model. He was leaning forward a little, so the light comes from a slightly higher spot.

I also used a black radial gradient layer in post-processing, to hide the clean cut of his arm and sleeve on the light's side. The rest of the image was already fading to black.

ok, that's just freaky. this shot, in many many ways, reminds me of ME...say...10 to 15 years ago. Uncanny...

That aside, I really like the soft light qualities here, and the shadows work really well. If you'd not mind, can you describe a little bit about the light set up? Nice stuff :)
