I;m a newbie here so maybe it's "just me", but I think you deserved much better. Your image seems well conceived and lit. The understated shadowplay seem nothing short of wonderful. I'd love to hear more about how you thought about this image...

Lovely image... intended or not the roughly heart shaped ties (ribbons?) surrounding the slippers somehow conveys the passion that fills these shoes. Also they are just asymetrical enough to add interest..... I like this image better than the ones that used to be on everyone's walls (Dont remember the photographer)

Not the most inspired shot considering the possibliities available with these shoes. At a ballet class or something actually capturing them mid-pose, like standing up on their toes would have been a stronger image.

Lol...I do like it though, it's well done. So you'd get a high score even if it WASN'T of pointe shoes...lol. : )
