I wanted to do an intentional study of shadows and how they can help interpret a scene. I thought for contrast, this could be a perfect fit for the challenge. My only concern is if people understand the intentional "decapitation" and if there is enough high contrast for the viewer.

Clever and effective. Brilliant composition/crop. Some will say not much contrast in the literal sense. Who cares? - it's still very good. 8

When I first saw this I had to really study it to figure out what I was seeing. I like that quality of the photo. It makes me delve in a bit deeper. I think the bronzey tones of the legs and arms detract from the high contrast of the shoes and what she's carrying in her arms. I do like the composition and idea though. 7

This is a cool effect, but why would you crop the model's head?

Ahhh very good one ... one thing that bothers me is the shadow on the right shoe! And also you should have cut more of her neck because it looks like she is a girafe :) But other than that ... on of top 10/top 20

Okay, good entry for this challenge....one thing is tripping me out about this shot however...is that a mannequin or a real model? If real, legs and arms look way plastic. Either way I think you met the challenge well.

While there is indeed high contrast with the model's bag and footwear, the center and left hand side of your photo seem very similar in tonal value, to me. I do like your composition however.

This is eerie. Is the woman a mannequin? The shadow has me thinking extraterrestrial. This image is far from being the 'same ol' stuff.'
