Greetings from the Critique Club
I agree with some of your commentors and disagree with some. I think the eye should be in focus - absolutely. In a macro, I want detail. I want to see things that I can't normally see.
The high contrast is evident - but actually a main portion of this image turns out to be the shadow under the eyebrow and that's got great middle exposure. I know the white skin and black hairs are supposed to be the contrast, but watch what the rest of the shot does as well.
Good composition, nice subject. Just nail focus next time. |

You'll probably get this a lot, but the iris should be in focus. |

I like the concept, but for me, I wish it was more in focus and no blue in the eyebrow. |

This is a very inspiring shot. It reminds me of 80's type art. It was done well. I would have like to see the pupil in focus and maybe have it cropped a bit more to the right but still verty nice. |

This photo has seen a little to much PS for my taste. Sure it is high contrast, but only from the results of PS not camera work. |

Strong use of selective desat. Like the detail showing the hair on the low part of the eyebrow. Would prefer to see some more shadow, and the focus on the eye instead. 10. |

I like the heavy eyelashes and the high pass of it. It'd be great if the iris were really sharply focused as well as the area directly above it. Good effort. 7 |

Great high key feel and amazing focus on the eyelashes. I like the selective color too. The only thing I think I might change would be the crop. Because it seems to be so centered, it lacks the interest I think it could generate by an offset composition. Other than that - great job! Bumping up. |

Well done. It doesn't look natural, because of the selective desaturation, but the effect is very strong and the image, very professional looking. |

it's a great concept, but IMO this kind of photo really need perfect sharpness in all elements. As it is, it is only focused on lashes, the DOF should've been increased a bit. |
