I had a black and white seagull in flight shot, but I am still learning about B&W photography and was not too happy with the result. So I decided to set up a simple picture with multiple contrasts and I think it worked OK. Not sure how the voters will react to this type of picture though.
I used pastels, and intentional contrasts were colour, Light and dark, horizontal and transverse lines, straight lines and curves. An unintentional one was the wider top gap than the rest. I will not have the chance to change that though.

Fantastic colors and good shadows. Are these chalks? It is really difficult to even get an idea of size.

High contrast indeed - and I like the solid, graphic look to your photo. I hope you do very well with this photo - I think it's terrific

Beautiful job. Simple, clean, perfectly meets the challenge, and is pleasing visually. My only suggestion would be to deepen the tones of the yellow and blue - they are a little lighter than I think is necessary (and I realize that you've got light & shadow contrasts going on here too). Great work.

You do have the contrast of colors here well but the grainy shadow and 'snapshot' feel of this doesn't do a whole lot for me. Low Res cam? High ISO?

the shadows cast an interesting dimension to this abstract image and you have interpreted the challenge well
