This definately says home to me I see a little dog every day too on the sofa when I come in the door. The concept and composition are very good for this challenge.
Your focus appears to be soft on the entire image and a unsharping mask may have helped with that. Also as mentioned in the other comments the white balance may be an issue here, if you can set your white balance set if for soft lighting indoors if not when you edit your photo set your color balance towards the blue to help pull the yellow tones out.
Overall the image is interesting and does meet the challenge.

A bit yellow - a white balance adjustment would have helped here. |

I think a nice frame, maybe 14 pixels of white or something would really set this shot off nicely. Very warm scene, I like the pictures on the wall. :) |

The dog and the pictures "fight" to be the focal point in this shot I think. Neither really stands out as being THE subject. |

I like the subject. I would have cropped it just above the second row of pictures or extended it above the top row but cutting the pictures on the top row makes the picture incomplete. Lighting and focus could be better. |

I like the way the squares interact with the organic shapes of the couch and the dog. I feel that the white furry thing on the top of the couch balances out the dog on the bottom of the couch nicely, preventing it from weighing it down to the left. I think that the pillow that your dog is comfortably sleeping on should not have been in the picture, because it's too bright and large, and it throws off the nice warm browns a bit too much. Nice job. |

This could be a very good photo if it were more sharp. I love the pillow for the dog. Looks like a very cozy home. |
