 Photographed in a small stream at the park near my house. Lots of shade, but this egret happened to be in a sunny patch. Thought black and white made a good contrast for this shot, although I wish the sun on his head wasn't quite so bright.

Despite being a bit noisy the subject is great. Maybe putting the bird in the top third of the frame would have looked better too.

Some nice areas of contrast, and for me, some areas such as the water are so similar in gray values that it lessens the overall contrast of the photo....if that makes sense? :)
