As a parent myself, I definatly feel that a child is a branch of a mother or father. Cute kid, by the way. I see where several improvements could be made. One is that the childs foot is cropped off. For this image I feel that it would have been better to have the entire body, or in a different pose from the waist up. Another suggestion would be that if we could see what the little photographer was shooting. I love that he is squinting, that is sooo cute. The colors are nice but the brick wall is kind of "bla". Overall I think it was a great try for the branch challenge. You went out of the box and didn't photograph a tree branch. You are so brave!! Good luck with future challenges!!!

Good idea. The boy seems just a touch out of focus but overall a good shot. Nice lighting and color.

Love this one because he has the camera! What a cutie, too!

cutting him off athe mid calf was unfortunate, IMHO either get all of him or crop tight enough so I dosen't look like a mistake. Of course cutting out the grass would mess up he nice interplay of colors you have going on so....

Lovely study in concentration. The lighting being fairly flat probably looses you some of the impact available using such a cute concept. You might also like to find a link on compostition where i talks about "thirds" and why not centering a subject in frame is always the best - 5

I appreciate your non-tree picture, however, i think you could have done more to make this an interesting picture. it does not WOW me at all. Adorable child and good outside the box
