Needs a bit more light. The composition is nice. It tells a story about this person and that's a good quality in a portrait.

A nice portrait...a bit too dark overall for my taste, but a nice shot.

A bit too dark for me. His hand in the foreground is much lighter than the rest of the photo. With the intensity in his eyes, this photo would have more of an impact with more even lighting.
