Very nice photo of the Herons looks as though they are loving each other. The birds are in very good focus and it is obvious you have captured them in their home enviroment.

The leaves in the lower right corner are very distracting. A bit overly exposed but I believe that was something you had no control over as it looks like sunlight causing that. You could have though tried cropping in closer to the birds and cutting out that corner. I believe it would have improve the image greatly by cropping out all the leaves across the bottom and right side.

In all though that is a really good capture of the birds! Nice shot Rob very well done.

There needs to be more contrast between the bitds and the trees to make them stand out better. I think better focus would help here. A graduated ND filter with the dark portion over the foreground and the use of spot metering on the birds might help here as well. The foreground has too much glare and therefore detracts from your main subjects.

I would've named it Heron and His'n Home - Good shot

There should be a caption competition alongside these challenges! Great pic with a near perfect composition which shows depth, texture and a hint of humour in the birds' expressions.

very cute herons, but slightly overexposed on the light on the leaves.

Nice shot. Birds always make interesting subjects. However, IMO, this shot does not meet the challenge =1

Nice composition, but over exposed leaves draw away from the herons.

Exciting find - heron nest. Too bad the leaves on right are overexposed...perhaps using curves in Photoshop could have helped.

Very nice approach to the challenge. I especially like the texture you have captured in the nest. Unfortunately, several of the leaves are a bit too overexposed, in my opinion-- perhaps you could meter the shot differently?

I'm going to have to grade this down a bit for not being about YOUR home, IMHO. This is of course just my own (perhaps over-narrow) interpretation of the challenge, but I have to draw lines somewhere to make judging easier, and I feel people who tried to shoot their own home deserve a better chance at high scores.
