I don't think your image is grainy..your focus on the dog is not sharp though. This is an interesting perspective..I find it too busy (and I often like busy)..the shed doesn't add to this subject..there is nothing gained from my pov in seeing it..the grass being in the foreground is distracting because it is not in focus and is not the subject..if the grass is tha tprominent I would think it might be better to give it the sharp focus, and have the dog out of focus..if the dog is the focal pt. then the grass would work better if it framed him. As for the not sharp focus, think it would have helped to bump up your iso, and use a faster shutter speed to accomadate the dog's movement (i am constantly guilty of using too slow a shutter speed myself).
Of course you might see things completely differently..that is a given. Hope this helps. |

First of all, thanks Linda for the critique, much appreciated. Couple of points, if you do not mind, first, it is NOT through a fleas eyes, it was from it's perspective i.e. the ground, know fleas do not see much at all and a complete blur seemed silly to me. Had others without the grass, but was trying to represent a hunters view, where the grass/trees/whatever between the hunter and the hunted is blurred in the hunters mind, obviously missed on that. I honestly do not see the grainy quality, but others do, so must be something I miss, or maybe it is because it is my pic, do not know. Only thing I can think of to cause that is bringing it down from about 1300K to 150 may have done it, not sure. Will definitly work on that!! Did reduce the noise, I think I did, just got the PSP X and thought I used it on her, but maybe not. Oh well, THANKS again for the critique, and I always appreciate the comments, though I, of course, retain the right (or wrong, LOL) to disagree!!

** Greetings from the Critique Club **
This is a great idea - however the execution could have been better with a little extra work. The grass covers too much of the dog's face - you might try getting the dog in position - tell him to stay - then clear away some of the grass that obscures the facial expression, yet leaving enough to give the idea of a flea hiding in the long grasses.
One of the comments you received indicated a flea does not see this clearly - I personally have no idea if this is true or not. I do think a slight gaussian blur over the entire image might have worked as it would have drawn away attention to how OOF the grass is in the foreground. The image is a tad grainy which I would not have expected with such a low ISO. Perhaps sending it through NeatImage or a similiar program that eliminates noise would have helped out.

I doubt fleas can see that clearly. In fact they definitely can't. An amorphous blob of warmth would have been far more accurate, you deserve a 1 for your complete lack of pedanticism but I'll up it to a 6. |

I like the idea, I think the dog is a bit OOF and the image is also a bit grainy. However, a true perspective. Nice job. |

I think the grass is a bit much in the dogs face. you can barely see his expression. Good concept just fair execution of it. 4 |
