GREETINGS FROM THE CRITIQUE CLUB!

Congrats on your first submission!

Well, I agree with others that the lighting is a bit too 'depressing' in this photo. In these kind of stop action shots very bright lighting works best. You want that background typically to appear completely white. Also, we need to see a lot more splash or droplets. The few 'baby' ones tht you have captured arent enough to convey movement really. I dont mind the negative space at the top so much, although I think it'd be better filled with some more droplets. Although this genre of shot has been overdone as another commenter mentioned, its a good shot to practice. Next time pump up the lights and get more water involved.

I am trying to find something good to say about motion capture shots rather than just be sick of them -- not your fault the randomizer turned you up so late in.

Er, let's see. It's an interesting colour liquid, and neat it's a red/green contrast. I like the refraction to the bottom left.

I think a bit too much negative space at the top, though. You may have wnated to give the impression of height from which things are dropped but I think you could have still with a slightly closer crop.

Haha I splashed too this week. It's harder than people make it look. I like the green in the shadow, but your light is too far away or too diffused - you can make that shadow stand out even more. Glass is hard to photograph. Good job.

the lighting is a bit dim/flat.. and I may have moved this to one side.. like the lower right corner... or is that becoming cliche? LOL Just musing.
Nice capture of the red drops in the greed liquid.

My most favorite thing about this image is the action captured. The contrast of the two colors is also nice, adds interest. Minus: the lighting. Because it's not very warm, it washes out the background and looks like paper rather than a background. Oh, the shadow with the green in it is also very nice!

more of a close up would've worked better for me... 4

Able to catch the movement of the red drop from high to the greenish liquid was a very excellent. Just the background to me, seem too grey, not bright enuff, thus the whole pic look very grainy, also the blank area on the top was too much

the backgroud is kind of plain... a lot of negitive space

Normally I like desaturation effects, but I feel this pic is a little empty. Perhaps if it was cropped a little tighter, it might have worked better for me. I like the subject and the idea (and the title!), but it's not quite 'there' for me.

This genre of shot has been done too often and much better for this particular photo to come off well.
