Photograph Information Photographer's Comments
Challenge: Conspiracy (Advanced Editing IV)
Camera: Olympus C-2100UZ
Location: paddock
Date: Sep 16, 2005
Aperture: f2.8
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/30sec
Date Uploaded: Sep 16, 2005

My two horses picking on each other in the paddock...taken on an overcast day...the hard part was stopping them from walking over to me and the camera. It took a long time for them to ignore my presence and a camera in their faces. I cloned out a water bucket and small rock in background..used levels, gaussian blur on image, unsharp mask, brightness/contrast, shadow/highlight and crop.

very nice capture, the levels seem a little light.. a bit more contrast would really make the subjects pop out

I like this concept & composition. I little more sharpness on the horses and a little more contrast in the background would have really improved this image, IMO.

Seems a bit out of focusand the empty middle seems to draw away the attention from the horses.

the top rail sort of cuts off the stuff that would make this a more interesting shot, muzzles and jawlines.

I think the horses should have been more in focus and the background more blurred

I am not fond of the PP on this one at all, by all means correct me if I am wrong but didn´t you blur out the backround afterwards? Anyway, if you didn´t it still looks very wierd (I am still talking about the blur), especially that line around the top of the horses head to the right. Also the lighting seems a bit flat, it could use a boost in contrast IMHO. The composition is nice though and I see at as beeing on topic. 5 from me.

I'm not sure this works quite so well within the challenge..it looks more like kisses to me. To make the shot a little more vibrant, you might try adding a little more contrast and brightining it.

Hehehehe..well done. I would've liked to have seen no fence there...but with these animals you have done well to get this.

Awww, it does look like they are sharing secrets. I find the fence a bit distracting (I want to see their lips :-), but a sweet shot.
