nice colors. am not sure if the bird of the orange is the focal point though. perhaps a slight bit more cropped off the top would have placed the bird's eye at the thirds crossing point to bring focus there, IMHO

Looks like the main focus of this image (the bird) is dead center. Try using the thirds a bit more

Although it may be found in the tropics, it also lives in other areas. We used to get them in out garden in Canberra, which is hardly tropic.
As for the photos, yes, it fits the Challenge well. But it's a shame that the bird's tongue is obscured by the bit of branch.
