If your title didn't tell me it was mud, I'm not sure I would have figured it out. Maybe it would've been better in color. |

Without meaning to get into a debate, I'm not sure that water + dirt qualifies as 'not water', so I'm a little iffy on the topic connection.
Other notes: I don't think this worked well as black and white as there's not a lot of contrast. It's also not a terribly attractive shot although since your subject was mud I'm not sure there's much else one could do to make it attractive. It's possible in colour this would be alleviated somewhat, although who knows. |

its reallyhard to see the "liquid" aspect of this shot because it is dark, and without enough contrast to really see the mud. |

With this photo being B&W, it's really hard to find a focal point. Kind of busy. |

sepia would have been a wiser choice compared to B&W. Or if the colours are ok, leave them in colour. B&W doesn't tell "mud" much |

Nice contrasts in texture, but might look better if you cropped off the sunlight patches at top & bottom to focus on puddle and palm.. |
