A nice fun read for a balmy afternoon.
I liked the chapter on how boiling a pack of cigarettes down to a syrup. Interesting that just 5 drops is lethal. *shudder*
I don't mind the colour in your picture. I found the layout a little too organized for my tastes though. It seems like an odd arrangement. Home bomb-makers are usually really fastidious or really disorganized. The latter group usually ends up losing a hand. Using the wooden table (floor?) made me feel like this should have been a slightly more casual or chaotic arrangement.
Nice idea.
Some neighbor kids at my parents house made a tennic ball cannon and were shooting apples at the local deer. All the apples that are normally made into apple pie were lost. Tragic really. |

I'm sure you've gotten this a couple times but the picture itself is very yellow tinted. Most likely from the lightning itself. |

a bit too yellow, seem to be a yellow cast on everything in this photo.
very good idea, and more or less, a good setup. I'm sure you considered having the book open, but then of course you loose the titlepage.

Good idea. Personally i don't think the yellow tint works. |

Not very many shadows for a "shadowy basement". |

ahh the pain of incandessent lighting, just too yellow. Good concept, but it is hurt by the lighting and the rather static camera angle |

The yellow does not add a mysterious feeling. |

the entire picture seems yellowed, which in this case is draws from the picture |

Not bad, very fitting for the challenge. That is not why I decided to comment though, I have some concern that your screen desperately needs to be calibrated for this shot is way way WAY too yellow. Of course, if that was your intent then I just have to say that I don´t really care for it. |

I'm not sure if its intentional, but the white-balance here seems a little bit funky. Making it a little less yellow/orange might strengthen the image. I'm also not too crazy about the blue border. |

White balance seems off or maybe the lighting? Great focus and DOF. I think the composition could of been a little better by adjusting your point of view. Still good shot |

Had it been a tad bit yellow, I would like it better. Nice setup...Shhhhh...my neighbors are coming up from the basement....... |

Unfortunate color cast, otherwise a good shot for this hard challenge... |

Classic thing I see often in indoor photography...that yellow tinge. Two things you can do during the shot...one, is use an 80A filter over your lens...basically it's a filter that has blues in it to cancel out the yellow. The other option is simply desaturate some of your yellow hues in Photoshop. :) |
