I never realized how many power lines there were until I picked up a Camera. It never fails, I take a great shot and BOOM!, there is yet another power line. Just how long have we as humans, known how to dig a hole in the ground?

Greetings from the Critique Club :-)

I think this was a good conceptual idea for the conspiracy challenge, though it takes a bit of thought for some to see the conspiracy, and some might not be able to understand until told.

I like the off-centered composition of the pole itself. One thing I would have changed is to crop out the trees at the bottom as they are distracting. Visually, when I first look at it, the crossed wires make it look very busy to the eyes, but you have the nearly monochrome background to counteract that a little bit. After looking at the photo my eyes begin to recognize the negative space and shapes created by the wire patterns, and I like that part.

With a photo that has what I call "breathing room" (or space), you might want to think about adding some sort of border to give it a finished feeling. I find choosing a color from within the photo always provides a nice compliment.

Again, a good concept and nice take on the conspiracty challenge. I hope you find this information helpful.

I know what you mean! Sometimes though, you just have to make do with what's available -- I'm actually thinking of doing some studies of our "wired world" as there are some great examples in my neighborhood. Here's one I did a couple of years ago : )

No kidding. Took me a second to realize what you were getting at! I like the randomness of the lines, but I don't like the tree tops sticking up. Obviously, something else to foil the photographer, but . . ..

ok I'm trying to comment on photos I give the highest and lowest scores to and I'll admit this scored pretty low. First I don't really get the connection to the challenge topic. And there is nothing that grabs my attention. The little tree tops distract rather than add to the composition I think. There is a lot of resizing residue (the wavy lines on the wires). You did a good job on the pole placement and I like how the sky blends with the lighter to darker shadeing. Keep trying. Its amazing how fast you can learn here :)

It does seem like a conspiracy, doesn't it? Great take on the challenge, but not the most interesting image to me. I wish that the tree tops either were not there at all, or were more visible, and that the sky were a more interesting color. That said, I love the concept, so 7.

Ooh man I hate those things. The pic looks a little bit over-sharpened and the wires are kindof stair-stepped although I'm not sure if thats from the sharpening or just out of the camera.

true, true ;-)

Good one, hope people get what you're saying - I did. I just say San Francisco...

I think some more trees might have been cool, i.e. a lower framing or, even better, an actual subject "blocked" or ruined by wires.

8 as is. Good use of negative space/silhouette!

Those truly are a conspiracy against decent sky and skyline shots. Creative thinking.
