the out of focus tree on the left hand side is distracting

Good comp, I like all the shades of green. Has an air of mystery to it.

Love the almost mono of the greens, the statue has drifted tright to the quarter line rather than the thirds

7 - Very nice scene. Criticism; would like to have seen the "point of interest" more defined, contrasted possible. Perhaps a slightly tighter crop down the bottom to avoid that 'thing' bottom left of the statue. Technically, while no 'expert', seems to me like you have gone for two rules here, 'bottom third row' and top right intersection, difficult, but especially for the Challenge, I would like to have seen an even stricter 'adherence' or 'emphasis' using either or both of these rules.

I like that all the greens are different enough that they don't all become a solid backgound.

Totally monochromatic. This is good because it sends your eye to the statue instead of a bunch of colors and your eye not having a place to rest. I might've upped the green sat a bit but overall, this is different and quite pleasant.
