I think you were trying too hard to fit the rule of thirds with the grid pattern. Looks too forced for me.

This is another photo that awesomely captures the point behind the challenge. Many photos are examples of the ROT, this one IS the ROT. Good job. Nice and sharp, good contrast.
Gripe? Only one. The super reflectivity of the marbles isREALL distracting. Instead of cleanly going across the lines of the ROT, I'm drawn to staring at the marbles and trying to figure out what's being reflected in them. I have no idea how to fix that other than dulling spray, and I have no idea how effective it would be, but that's what's keeping this from being a 10.

I like the idea of this. I wish the background didn't have any detail to it - I am guessing it's wood. The reflections are interesting. I think the grid isn't exactly square as the vertical lines seem to be going off to the right ever so slightly.
