This is a case where a title pointing people in the right direction, since there is so little detail in the photo it makes it hard for people to understand the context.
Something like "Crescendo" or "First Notes" or even "Sound Check" (no one would know it's not the band's mixing engineer) might have helped people along.
I liked the color and form as a semi-abstract, but people have so little time to vote here (well, some people) that if your subject and its connection to the challenge is not obvious, your score will probably suffer (I speak from experience). But don't let that stop you from submitting things that YOU are happy with! |

Just to explain this, i doubt anyone cares as i finished last but, this was taken at a concert in Boston put on by a band named Manitoba. Right as the band hit their first note, this gentleman looked up from the floor ( i was on the second level ) and started watching the band. His reaction to "sound" was what I was capturing. This was only saturated, the camera shook in the darkness to create the blur and the colors were just stage lights. Can't believe, well yeah i can at this site, that this photo got rated so low.

This is just bizarre and surreal, which I like. |

What is the sound? Post processing has hurt this shot a lot. |

interesting blur effect, but this doesn't say sound to me. I like the positioning of your subject though, what is she doing? |

I looked up on google what manitoba was and only found natural gas and a moose. Since im not sure if thats correct and dont see in this photo what excatly it is, im lost. I do like the colors of her hair and the green on the opposite side but dont get a true feeling of sound. Sorry but I gave it a 4 based on those reasons. |

I like the blurred/saturated effect, not really sure about the title? |

I like the contrast of the green and the amberness of her hair, but it doesn't really say sound to me. Sorry. Neat image though |

Hmm, I guess I don't understand this one for "sound", but I like the digtal effects and the artistic composition. Sorry, to be dense, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and figure it's about sound. : ) |

I'm afraid I see absolutely no relation to the challenge in this photo. |

I just visited Manitoba a few weeks ago... but I have to admit that I'm not sure how this one meets the "sound" challenge. I assume those are the Northern Lights...? |

I'm afraid I dont really understand the photo. It seems very dark and I cant tell whats going on. This would be fine as an abstract, but I can see a person so to me it is kinda ruled out that category. |

Please forgive me... I'm not understanding this photo and what I'm looking at. The colors are nice but I don't know what it and Manitoba have to do with sound. Am I missing something? |
